We have been busy the last 4 months or so helping people transition from Windows 7 to Windows 10, due to end of life for 7. For some customers this meant a brand new computer, while some wanted to explore other options. A very popular option has been to upgrade the existing computer to Windows 10, and install a new solid state drive. SSD’s are said to be 15x faster than a traditional mechanical drive, and with prices falling on them recently, this is by far the most cost effective upgrade available.

Here at JD’s Computers, we built our business, in good part, by refurbishing computers with Windows XP, and selling them to people who didn’t want to be stuck with Windows Vista. Computers would be visually inspected, and thorough hardware tests would be performed. If it passed, the computer would be cleaned, vacuumed, and have the operating system freshly installed. This experience has helped us evaluate current Windows 7 computers for viability to upgrade to 10. We have many satisfied customers, who saved money by not buying a new computer, when their old computer still has plenty of life left.
